Have you ever had a day that goes from bad to worse? You say to yourself, ‘This is the worst morning ever’. So many of us experience days like this, resulting in us feeling down, and distracting us, turning the rest of the day into a struggle. Below are 6 tips on how to restart your day and put those bad feeling to bed. And the best part is: all of them take less than five minutes.
STOP, WAIT A MINUTE:
There is no point going into work or a meeting feeling anxious and frustrated. By pausing and taking a step back you will help reset your mindset. Take a 5-minute walk, listen to your favourite song -or an inspirational podcast. This will do wonders for your mood.
THATS, WHY I CALL YOU MY BEST FRIEND:
Call a friend and let it out. Remember to focus on what just happened, as you don’t want to start your friend’s day with a negative conversation. Take a deep breath and let it loose, slowly and gently.
WRITE IT DOWN:
Take out your phone and write three things you’re grateful for. Gratitude is an awesome way to overcome bad energy and negative emotions.
Take deep breaths. You do not need to sit on a yoga mat to meditate. Find a quiet spot, put on some relaxing music and relax. Take 10 slow deep breaths, focusing on the present and letting go of any other thoughts. This is a great way to re-energise your body and de-stress.
Revisit your goals for the day. Remind yourself of what you set out to achieve today. Remembering your day’s purpose is a great way to crush any negativity and say goodbye to those bad moments for good.
And last, but not least, my favourite; read a positive quote. I just read a few out loud and I instantly feel good.
